I did some experimenting with some AI tools back in 2023. The initial subject was a series of shots of sunflowers I took back in 2014 to complete a course assignment I was doing for my MFA degree. I was curious about how AI generated images would evolve over subsequent iterations. Below is a slide deck of three typologies. The first typology is the initial set of 16 sunflower images taken at various states of aging (Sunflowers purchased from our local Trader Joe’s). The second is based on the first iteration (feeding the original images into an AI engine and applying a prompt). The third is the second iteration (feeding the second set of images into an AI engine and applying the same prompt). The sequence below shows how the images evolved.
